The red plum is a shining ruby of the indigenous tribes. Every May in the lunar calendar, the mountainsides are laden with red plum fruit. Each bright red, firm plum grows naturally in the remote mountains, free from pesticides and fertilizers. After Typhoon Morakot, the indigenous people of Taoyuan Mountain in Kaohsiung returned to their hometown by cultivating red plums, hence the name "Homecoming Plum."
